Sitting pretty near the burial mound of Emperor Nintoku, this matcha-focused café makes the most of its location with a playful line-up of kofun-themed sweet treats. Their most popular creation is the eye-catching Co.Fun kakigori (¥1,380), a summer-only shaved ice spectacular served on a keyhole-shaped dish modelled on the Nintoku tomb and topped liberally with green tea foam. They make only 10 servings of it per day, so you’ll want to call ahead or message them on Instagram to make an advance reservation.
Other options include a mornings-only matcha sugar toast set, various lunch dishes served on kofun-shaped plates, and even bright green matcha beer. However, do note that the café requires reservations after 6pm and may close irregularly.
