Luke Cafe

Time Out says

Coffee nerds from across Japan make pilgrimages to this little café out in residential Ikeda, not far from the city’s ever-popular Cup Noodles Museum. Though Luke Cafe is most famous for offering Indonesian civet coffee (kopi luwak) year round, it’s worth visiting for more than this contentious brew.

Resident roaster Hikari Kubota is both a coffee expert and an accomplished musician, performing as part of a woodwind quartet run by the company behind the café she works at. Her unique order-made blends are as harmonious as you’d expect from an artist of this calibre.

Completing the soothing atmosphere is the resident café cat, who traipses freely around the space and doesn’t hesitate to cuddle up to his customers. The aforementioned quartet practices at the café on Mondays, when you can sip your coffee to the sound of smooth modern tango.
