Built by local landowner and merchant Matashiro Shibakawa in 1927, this handsome structure was originally used as the Shibakawa family’s business office and a home economics school, but is now a quirky shopping centre of sorts, with jewellery and ceramics shops, restaurants and cafés occupying the stately rooms. Fans of retro architecture should find a visit worth their while.
