This festive season, major transport hub Osaka Station City is collaborating with Barbapapa to celebrate both the year-end holiday season and the 55th anniversary of the beloved children’s picture book.
You’ll find most of the illuminations around the fifth-floor Time and Space Plaza and the Grand Staircase, featuring cute, family-friendly designs inspired by the book. Many of the sparkling displays incorporate musical motifs or are synchronised with festive tunes.
The Grand Staircase is decorated with a colourful array of Christmas ornaments styled as Barbapapa family members. The Golden Clock, on the other hand, transforms into a Christmas tree with Barbapapa and Barbamama appearing as if they’re in the midst of decorating it.
For something more immersive, the Crazy Tune Tunnel offers a walk-through light-and-sound experience. If you need a break from the sprawling station’s bustling pace, the Rest to You area provides a laid-back corner with glowing Barbapapa chairs, where you can relax and just enjoy the view.
