A local landmark noted for its faux-mediaeval white towers and red railings, this suspension bridge over the Ishikawa river in the city of Kashiwara was built in 1928 to provide direct access to a nearby amusement park. That facility closed back in 1998, and Tamate Bridge is now used exclusively for pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
