The last station on the quaint Mizuma Railway serves as the gateway to Mizumadera Temple, an ancient Buddhist sanctuary that hosts a famous statue of the bodhisattva Kannon, believed to ward off misfortune. Designed to evoke the temple, Mizuma Kannon Station features a decorative double roof and distinctive eaves, plus windows with a pattern drawn from the Buddhist swastika symbol. Built in 1926, the station was one of the first reinforced-concrete structures in the region and has been heritage listed.
