The popular and long-running anti-Valentine’s Day event from First Person Arts returns for its eighth season. The format is one you should know by now: Brave audience members volunteer to share snappy five-minute tales about former flames. The stories can range from shockingly revealing to downright hilarious, but whatever the case it’s an excellent way to get some serious shit off your chest—and escape the typical Valentine’s Day fray. Winners of the story slam take home $100 and the chance to compete in a Grand Slam happening later this year in which Philly’s Best Storyteller will be crowned.
