The mayoral race is in full swing and before the candidates can even think about the May 19th Primary, they have to make sure they are on the ballot. In Pennsylvania, this starts with having registered voters sign your petition. In order to engage milennials in this process, the Pattison Leader Group is hosting a Petition Pitch Party.
Tickets are $4 and can be purchased at nextphlmayor.splashthat.com
The rules of the game are as follows:
All attendees will receive a "chip" upon entering the venue
Each candidate will be given 7 minutes to "pitch" him or herself to the audience and then will leave the venue.
After each candidate has given their "pitch," attendees will have the opportunity to sign one candidate's petition.
Campaign staffers will man their tables and will be on hand to answer questions from attendees
Once an attendee signs a petition they will hand over their "chip" to the staffer and then will be free to partake in libations and complimentary bites
We are hoping to pack the venue with milennials and gen-xers and show the candidates that this is a constituency that they need to pay attention to.
Confirmed Candidates to date:
Councilman Jim Kenney
Senator Anthony Williams
Doug Oliver
Judge Nelson Diaz
Tentative:
Lynne Abraham
