Prometheus Chamber Orchestra says
Join Prometheus as we seek to illuminate the intersection between two art forms, where melody and rhythm, verse and phrase are borne out of a singular inspiration. The biblical story of the crucifixion inspired Joseph Haydn in the 18th century to write his music based on the Seven Last Words of Christ, which in turn, three hundred years later, led the American poet Mark Strand to ruminate with his own words. In the center of this crossing we experience a story that is at once past and present; divine yet inevitably human.
