We've also revisited OOO Burger and found its hidden gem setting is as appealing as ever.

Whether it's a quick burger fix, a late-night craving or a full-blown cheat day, Phuket has plenty of options. Favourites Pan Burger, Treasure Burger, EAT. Burgers & Beers and Madcow Burger continue to prove why they've earned their place among Phuket's standout burger restaurants, while top burger spots are claimed by some of the island’s most talked about restaurants.

And before you ask, these are the best burger restaurants – focusing on the best spots in Phuket that are dedicated to the patty. And while there are some amazing burgers served elsewhere, we’re giving those who double down on a double cheeseburger in this one.

What is it?

One of Phuket's newer entrants to the burger scene, Millionaire Burgers has quickly built a devoted fan base thanks to its creative menu, quality ingredients and playful personality. With locations in Surin Beach and Laguna, it has become a go-to for those seeking a little something beyond your standard burger.

Why we love it:

Millionaire Burgers combines bold flavours with a sense of fun that we really get behind. The notorious P.I.G is a standout, pairing 12-hour slow-cooked pork with Asian slaw, pickled chilli and sesame emulsion for a burger that's rich, indulgent and packed with character. The menu doesn't stop at burgers either. The Millionaire loaded fries, topped with the same slow-cooked pork, melted cheddar, jalapeños and fresh salsa, are reason enough to pay them a visit.

Time Out tip:

Head to the Surin Beach branch, order your feast, then stroll across the road to the soft sands and dine in true Phuket style. After all, everything tastes better with Andaman Sea views, just be careful not to get sand in your bun on those breezier days.

Millionaire Burgers Surin Beach. Surin Beach, Thalang. Open 11.30am-10.30pm

Millionaire Burgers Laguna. 56 Lagoon Rd, Cherngtalay, Thalang. Open 11.30am-10.30pm

What is it?

Launched from a roadside food cart during the pandemic, OOO Burger has now become one of Phuket's favourite independent burger spots, and for good reason. Founder Chef Aek, whose background includes Six Senses Koh Yao Noi, has developed a loyal following with a focus on local ingredients and house-made elements.

Why we love it:

Part of the appeal is the place itself. With its tropical setting, mismatched tables, chairs and traditional Thai-style thatched roof, OOO Burger feels refreshingly unpolished in all the right ways. The Aussie beef burger remains the signature order, served alongside excellent hand-cut, double-fried fries that ooze warmth. If you fancy something a little different, the menu also features creative prawn and chicken options that flip burger ideas into the realm of experiential dining.

Time Out tip:

Located beside the gates of Manik Temple, OOO Burger is easy to drive straight past. Keep an eye out for it on the roadside and arrive early, as the most popular burgers often sell out before closing time.

OOO Burger. 30, 99 Srisoonthorn Rd, Si Sunthon. Open 10.30am-9pm

3. Prime Burger

What is it?

With multiple locations across Phuket, including Porto de Phuket, Central Phuket, Patong and Rawai, Prime Burger has become one of the island's most recognisable burger brands. Its widespread presence means it's sometimes overlooked in favour of smaller independents, but there’s a reason it remains a favourite with locals and visitors alike.

Why we love it:

Prime Burger puts a playful spin on the classic burger menu, with creations inspired by cities around the world. The Stockholm burger, named after founder Tobias Garneij's hometown, remains one of the most popular orders, while the menu also includes burgers inspired by destinations such as New York, Bangkok, Tokyo and, we’re pleased to report, Phuket. With the option to upgrade from a single to a double or even a triple smash patty, there's something for every appetite.

Time Out tip:

The Phuket burger is the ultimate local twist. Grilled pineapple, caramelised onions and chilli mayo add layers of sweetness and heat to these smash patties. Why go bog-standard when there’s this on the menu?

What is it?

Located in a row of shophouses in Koh Kaew – where, if we’re honest, good dining options can be hard to come by – Pan Burger stands out as a beacon, becoming one of Phuket's best-known burger spots. Founded by The Nai Harn's Executive Chef Mark Jones and his wife Pan, it attracts burger lovers from across the island who come for far more than convenience.

Why we love it:

Pan Burger strikes a balance between doing the classics well and offering something a little different. The Gorgonzola Cheese Burger is a standout for those looking to move beyond a standard cheeseburger, while the rest of the menu ranges from familiar favourites to more adventurous combinations. Whatever you order, there's a level of consistency here that keeps people coming back.

Time Out tip:

Just a few minutes from one of Phuket's largest international schools, it gets particularly busy around school pick-up time. Aim for an early lunch or later dinner if you'd prefer a quieter experience.

Pan Burger. A 9/31 Taepkrasattri Road, Kohkaew Soi Supicha, Koh Kaeo. Open 11.15am-11pm

What is it?

Tucked within Rawai's Art Village, Treasure Burger is a small independent spot with a big reputation. Owner Khun Son developed his passion for burgers while studying in Australia before returning to Phuket to create a menu that balances classic comfort food with flavours tailored to local tastes.

Why we love it:

Attention to detail really sets Treasure Burger apart. Khun Son spent months perfecting his signature bun, creating a lighter texture inspired by both French brioche and Japanese shokupan. That same care extends throughout the menu, from the quality of the ingredients to the variety of burgers on offer. The fiery mt’spicy burger is a particular favourite – layering spicy mayo, jalapeños and homemade chilli jam over a perfectly cooked beef patty.

Time Out tip

Find a seat in the relaxed garden setting to soak up the creative atmosphere of the Art Village. Friday evenings can be especially popular, so arrive early.

Treasure Burger. Soi Naya 2, Rawai. Open 12.30pm-10.30pm

What is it?

Part burger restaurant, part craft beer bar, EAT. Burgers & Beers brings a slice of Scandinavian pub culture to Karon. The younger sibling to the long-running EAT. Bar & Grill, it serves everything from wagyu smash burgers and doner kebabs to Swedish meatballs, alongside a rotating selection of craft beers.

Why we love it:

While the burgers are the main attraction, it's the variety that keeps things interesting. The viking double smash burger is a popular choice, pairing smashed patties with homemade aioli and classic toppings, while the beer menu features more than 20 craft brews from Thailand and further afield. Schnitzels, doner kebabs and Swedish meatballs round out the menu, making it a reliable option for groups with mixed tastes.

Time Out tip:

The cosy pub-style interior makes this one of the few burger spots in Karon that's just as appealing on a rainy afternoon as it is for dinner.

EAT. Burgers & Beers. 250 1 Patak Rd, Karon. Open 1pm-10pm. Closed Monday.

What is it?

Originally founded in Bangkok by Toni ‘Tua’ Santos, Madcow Burger has grown from a cult favourite into a recognised burger brand with branches across Thailand. Its Phuket Old Town outpost adds a local twist, offering a halal-friendly menu for the surrounding neighbourhood.

Why we love it:

Madcow Burger doesn't reinvent the wheel, it just makes sure it runs exceptionally well. The signature Madcow burger remains a popular order, pairing a smashed beef patty with a molten cheese centre, crisp beef bacon and house sauce. The dramatic black charcoal bun gives the burgers their unmistakable look and has become one of their main calling cards. Add in indulgent sides such as mac and cheese, and it's easy to see why Madcow has become one of Thailand’s better known burger brands.

Time Out tip:

Drop by for a late lunch to get more time to explore Phuket Old Town's cafés, galleries and street art during the late afternoon lull.

Madcow Burger. 56 Ratsada Road, Phuket Old Town. Open 11am-11pm
