Rocktober is an artistic homage to 25 songs by national recording artists from the 1940s-2000s interpreted in the unique style of Portland-based artist Chris Haberman. Chris has always been inspired by music in his art, but since 2010 he began wondering, “What would that song look like in my art?” Since then he has been making paintings devoted to his favorite songs and the lyrics themselves. Each work contains visual elements from the songs as a storyline and all the lyrics as background, giving the auditory art a fun and visual platform.
For Rocktober, all of these songs will be represented by individual original pieces created by Haberman:
