From the Capulets and Montagues to your co-workers who glare at each other every time they pass by, feelings of resentment and the holding of grudges is as old as history itself. Sometimes they are funny, sometimes they are serious and always they are important to the persons involved.

In this show, Damn, I Hate You: Stories of Resentment and Grudges, The Portland Playback Theater Troupe will explore the theme by inviting audience members to share those stories that they have been holding onto for days, month or even years.

“We all hold onto things, whether we like to admit it or not,” says Jackie Paris, director of the Portland Playback Theater Troupe. “At our show, you will have an opportunity to share your grudge with us in a room that will honor you for having the courage to share. With respect, reverence and good humor, we will enact your story back to you and in the process hopefully reveal to you something about your own experience. So bring us your best grudge stories. Intrigue us! Surprise us! Playback Theater is all about YOUR story.”
