French American International School says
La Fête de la Musique was first organized in France in 1982 and now takes place in over 100 countries around the world. It is traditionally held on June 21, as a celebration of music on the summer solstice. The purpose is to celebrate music all day, by and for the community, with children, teachers, aides, staff, families, and friends, putting an emphasis on world music. This year, all student workshops will be organized in the morning. In the afternoon, our community will enjoy the usual “open music” session, with music being played all around the FAIS campus from 1:00 to 2:30. Students will perform from 2:30 to 3:15.
