Intro To Wu Wo: A Taiwanese Practice Of Sharing Tea

The Jasmine Pearl Tea Company says
The Wu-Wo Tea Ceremony was created in Taiwan in the 1980s as an experience that allows many participants to brew and serve tea together. It is rooted in Chinese Gong-Fu small pot brewing style. Wu-Wo translates to "void of self" and embodies this principle. Participants sit in a circle and silently brew, while being present with their tea, nature, and each other. Those that you serve are not the ones you receive from, reinforcing the concept of giving without expectations.

Tickets $10.00
Attendees receive 15% off in-store purchases on the day of the event.

Dewey Meyer of the Northwest Wu-Wo Tea Association will be leading the first ever Wu-Wo class in our event space at The Jasmine Pearl. Join us! No experience is necessary. This ceremony is easy to learn and was designed so that anyone, regardless of knowledge or skill can do it. Basic brewing equipment kits will be provided so that everyone gets a hands on experience learning every step of the ceremony along with tasting a variety of wonderful teas.

The NW Wu-Wo Tea Association has been active since 2007 and is based in Portland, OR. Their goal is to encourage the flowering of tea culture in the Pacific Northwest through appreciation of a gracious tea ceremony while enjoying a heartwarming cup of tea. We gather the second Sunday of each month to celebrate tea in community. For more information visit: nwwuwotea.com.
Attendees will also receive 15% off in-store purchases on the day of the event.
