Time Out says

Your St Patrick's day green beer alternative! This month KORREA will perform "sPEEDsDATEsCOOL," a new performance work featuring Ithica Tell and Mathew Bostrom, about a man and a woman and a guy with a flip phone, that boasts fresh trap-inspired beats with stark new choreography. Before that, enjoy Eurhapsodoi, who will jam out with their epic Greek myth storytelling hiphop freestyles. Singer/songwriter Hayley McCurdy will sweeten the air with some new gems. Also, the evening will open with the classical guitar work of local baroque hero, Pancho, while the trippy visual craft of our resident video artist, Camera Obscura, blares merrily psychedelic all along... 21+over. Free. ABOUT THE ARTISTS: KORREA is the brainchild of Jeremey Catterton, a video and theatre artist who makes original experimental performances. As the artistic director of Lamb Lays with Lion he has presented theatre commissions in London, Bali, Minneapolis, Austin, Seattle & New York. Jeremey has also collaborated with musicians Peter Wolf Crier, Fort Wilson Riot and premiered his video “The Needle” on Pitchfork.tv for To Kill a Petty Bourgeoisie. korrearap.tumblr.com Eurhapsodoi is a musical performance art project dedicated to exploring the relationship between oral epic songs (such as Homer’s Iliad and Odyssey) and hip hop freestyle. A public appearance by Eurhapsodoi features several different elements: 1.) A hip hop performance, in the original Greek, of an excerpt from the Iliad or the the Odyssey. 2.) A lecture and discussion about the Parry-Lord theory of oral composition, the nature of epic song, and to what extent the principles of the oral tradition described in Albert B. Lord’s book The Singer of Tales apply to freestyle culture. 3.) A workshop in which we will explore the use of flexible themes and oral formulas in creating freestyle hip hop narratives in English Hayley McCurdy A Portland raised folk and soul singer, Hayley's songwriting can be summed up as honest and eclectic with the fusion of blues and folk. Her lyrics, enticing and playful, will always keep you guessing. Growing up in Portland Oregon, she started writing music at a young age, focusing primarily on finding meaning in her life lyrically; reflecting on childhood, love, loss, curiosity, and even the most mundane of moments. Pancho has been described by critics as a "king amongst men." He began shredding the electric guitar in his early adolescence, but since having discovered what plebeians call a "heart", he has been blessing nylon strings with his elegant fingers, summoning praise from audiences at weddings, wakes, dinner parties, church ceremonies, and recitals. He will continue his angelic reign at a bar in downtown Portland. If Pancho is not gigging, he can be found on the hills of Spain, scoffing at inferior forms of art.
