This Sun! Dance The Tension For Community Empowerment

Advertising

Time Out says

We gather together in community to co-create the place for healthy intimacy that we all yearn for. This is what calls us forth and inspires our passion. Yet, a pattern, a re-current energy, sings to us a siren song that we just can’t seem to silence. The questions of what to do, won’t it just go away, how do we make it stop, when will it be enough seem stuck on repeat. And the desire, the deep hunger, to weave together bonds that can hold us through the difficult moments gives us the courage, the heart, the voice and the will to co-create networks in which we look out for one-another, hold each other in integrity, and bravely claim a willingness to create a culture in which breaches of consent are no longer accepted and overlooked. This is a fierce prayer we are calling in and birthing forth. This is your invitation to join us. Together we will dance to the rhythm of our heartbeats and the movement of our feet into the bittersweet release of all the tension that has been building, bubbling over and bringing us the opportunity to re-envision how we co-create the containers that hold us together in community. This is no ordinary dance. We will have a double wave ecstatic dance and in the middle, the music will come down to a drumbeat. We will engage in a ceremonial fire circle. In this circle, movement is key. This will be the time for us to step deeply into our courage to speak, to listen, to consider and to name our fear, pain, sadness, hope and inspiration for the growth, healing and support of us as individuals and as a greater community. The second wave will take us home through the heart and carry us forward as we do the deep work of educating and empowering ourselves and our communities. All proceeds will go to fund an April series of education and empowerment events around boundaries and consent, sexual assault and survivor support. We are blessed with the dynamic combo of both Felix Roth and Anna Dale for DJs. Amanda Rain and SaraHope will be holding intention and facilitating the space. There will be a circle of people with the focused intent of holding a solid, safe container for this great work to happen. This is a special, not-to-be-missed experience. What defines a community is not what happens, but how we respond to what happens. This has impacted many overlapping circles of our broader community and each circle is invited to bring an artistic offering, community art project, or ceremonial altar to add to the co-creation of the space. If this interests you, please contact us. We have a defining moment before us. Come, help us move together toward greater solution as a community, as a whole, that we may join together against the injustice and suffering of our world to birth forth a powerful new vision where individual sovereignty is honored, difference is respected, all people are empowered and Justice is held Sacred. Brought to you by the generous support of Sacred Circle Dance and the community visioning of Amanda Rain and Speaking the Unspeakable.
