Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego says
Visual and performing arts converge at MCASD’s after-hours offering: Downtown at Sundown. On the third Thursday of every month, enjoy free Museum admission and exhibition tours, DJ-spun tunes, free entry at SDSU Downtown Gallery, drink specials at the adjacent Stone Brewing Company Store, and so much more.

Downtown at Sundown guests will get the first look at A Step Away: Artists from the MFA Program at UC San Diego. This collaborative exhibition between MCASD and the University of California, San Diego Visual Arts Department presents work by eleven graduating artists in the Master of Fine Arts program. Seen together, the works in this show represent a wide range of interests, from investigations in material, surface, and form to concerns of memory, labor, and the body.

Free exhbition tours will be offered in MCASD's galleries at 5:30 and 6:45 PM. In addition to A Step Away, exhibitions on view include Dimensions of Black: A Collaboration with the San Diego African American Museum of Fine Art; Jennifer Steinkamp: Madame Curie; and Tristano di Robilant.

At the SDSU Downtown Gallery, guests can explore the exhibition All Natural. Featuring seven artists working with natural materials or naturally occurring elements, their finished pieces explore the fringes of photography, sculpture and painting, while intersecting with notions of sustainability. All Natural highlights ways that each individual extends beyond boundaries to produce provocative and experimental results. Artists include Stephanie Bedwell, Jennifer Anne Bennett, scott b. davis, Roman de Salvo, John Oliver Lewis, Jessica McCambly, and Meghann Riepenhoff.
