Iconic UK reggae/pop ensemble UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, Astro and Mickey Virtue have confirmed their first extensive North American tour in eight years. The band’s principle songwriter and venerable vocalist Ali Campbell, will be joined by exceedingly talented percussionist/trumpeter/vocalist Astro and outstanding keyboardist Mickey Virtue, all of whom are founding members of the original UB40. The trio (along with their seven-piece band) make a stop at Humphreys Concerets on October 11. Known for their exuberant stage show, UB40 will tantalize fans by performing all the hits that catapulted them to the forefront of the ubiquitous musical landscape including “Red, Red Wine,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love,” “Kingston Town,” “One In Ten” and “Food For Thought.” Concertgoers will also be treated to new material from the band’s latest album release Silhouette. Formed in 1979, UB40 helped define reggae music for a generation. The pioneering reggae troupe topped the UK singles chart on three occasions, earned multiple Grammy nominations and sold 70 million records as they took their smooth yet rootsy musical blend to all corners of the globe.
