Class: Writing Character For The Screen says
July 28th (Thursday) 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Instructor: David Lipson
Tuition: $30 ($20 for Film Forum members)

Drawing from classic American works The Conversation and Five Easy Pieces in addition to contemporary films A Hijacking and Michael Clayton, the first half of this two-hour seminar will explore the narrative mechanics behind creating effective multidimensional characters for the screen. In the latter portion of this workshop, we will get knee-deep into possible creative approaches for navigating the messy and unpredictable business of finding your characters. Writing Character for the Screen will attempt to provide a practical perspective on character writing and how that process can imbue scene building and narrative structure with greater dramatic resonance.
