Town Hall Seattle says
In a recent interview with The New York Times’ Tom Friedman, President Obama defined his doctrine as “we will engage, but we preserve all our capabilities.” While Obama was speaking about the U.S.-Iranian nuclear relationship, professor Colin Dueck (author of The Obama Doctrine) says this general theory can be applied to all of the president’s actions in the White House. According to Dueck, the president’s international relations directly feed into his domestic policy goals–he’ll offer an overview of Obama’s two terms in office and how his decision-making has fueled counter-doctrines in conservatives. Dueck will also share what he thinks the best foreign policy approach is moving forward, and how actions taken now are already framing the debate for the 2016 elections.
