Time Out says

HOSTED BY: Tasara (Jen ofthe Earth) ALTAR: by Jacquie Hansen The Soul of Seattle Wants to Move Through our Bodies and Music. A few of us have gone on spirit journeys to meet the Soul of Seattle to find out if it/he/she is open to being engaged with by us. Enlivened through association. Here are the messages that we got: - The soul of Seattle tries to communicate with us all the time. But we are flitting too fast. In order to meet the Soul of Seattle, we have to slow our minds. Not our music and dance but our minds. - Seattle wants to rise up out of the cold mucky green and move through us and make it's/his/her own expression!! - You find friendship when you said slow down in order to have openings. Let's make friends with Seattle. Come Orca. Come Mt. Tahoma. Come Wolf. Come Raven. Come muck. Come slugs. Come ancient relationship with human people. Come all. Let us slow our slow, as slow as moss to listen and connect, to open, to live the Soul of Seattle for one night. Blessed Sealth. BRING something from one of your favorite places in Seattle to place on the altar. BRING a scarf to dance your favorite part of Seattle with. (Note: No, silly, we are not invoking the cosmopolitan aspect of Seattle but the earth herself, the soul of this part of the planet.) WHEN: March 7th, 7-9pm WHERE: Embrace the Moon in Ballard COST: $10-15 HOW TO COME PREPARED: - Dress for dancing if you dance - Bring personal items for the altar representing your seeds as being planted. - Extra instruments to share would be so generous XOXXOXXOOOXOXXXOXOXO ---------------- Normal TSJ Stuff---------------------------- Turtle Spirt Jam is a project of Littlelight Ceremonies, founded by Tasara. Spirit Jam are community ceremonies where we take a deep journey using our drums, voices, other instruments and bodies to explore the Other Worlds for insight and healing, for ourselves, each other and Mother Earth Father Sky. Some participants also come to journey or to meditate. Turtle Spirit Jam is a place to practice listening to the spirit of the drum and the spirits the drums evoke. Turtle Spirit Jam is musically hosted rather than facilitated and drummers at all levels of experience are welcome. You are invited to dance, rattle, drum, hum, drone, chant and/or vocalize your intention and your joy in our safe & open circle. Drums, didgeridoos, flutes and other instruments are all welcome. ** Please bring personal items to add to the altar. (you can take them back of course) ** Small percussion instruments, extra drums to share would be greatly appreciated. Thank You! Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so as to avoid "breaking the mood." as we do start on time. Thank you! If you do arrive late, please be conscious of subtlety when entering the space. Well-behaved children are welcome! **People of all religions and spiritual paths are welcome.** TURTLE SPIRIT JAM EVENTS ARE DRUG/ALCOHOL FREE.
