Count Us In 2017 says
Previously, our community’s point in time count was known as the One Night Count and our youth and young adult count was called Count Us In. This year, we have adopted the name Count Us In to describe the entire range of PIT count activities, including a count of people living unsheltered, those living in shelter or tranistional housing, a qualitative survey of people experiencing homelessness accross the County, and specialized approaches to counting subpopulations, including youth/young adults and families.

While the count’s core purpose is to collect data on the needs of people experiencing homelessness, the count also provides an excellent opportunity to increase awareness of homelessness and to spark action. A successful and accurate PIT Count is an essential component to informing our system response to the need in our community and to ultimately making homelessness rare, brief and one-time.
