Early Music Discovery Presents: Mini Masterworks: Tales From The Middle Ages With Seattle Historical Arts For Kids

Advertising

Time Out says

The kids of Seattle Historical Arts return for another Early Music Discovery performance (their fifth!) with stories of magic and miracles from the Middle Ages, accompanied by era-specific instruments. For this special program, two period tales will be portrayed: the knight Bisclavret’s transformation into a wolf and attempt to return to his human life; and selections from Cantigas de Santa Maria, featuring a lost sheep, a vanquished dragon, and in a somewhat surprising turn of events, “the miracle of the dancing pork chop.” The afternoon will be accompanied by SHAK’s Early Music Youth Academy, and the musical stylings of Shulamit Kleinerman on the vielle; Jacob Breedlove (hurdy-gurdy); Miyo Aoki on the recorder; and percussionist Jane Hall.
