Hunt & Gather says
Think about the last time you went out and heard something (or someone) new. When you were entranced, surprised, intrigued, delighted by what was coming out of the speakers. When you ditched the crowd at the bar and found a new one on the dancefloor. When you forgot what time it was, what year it was, when you stayed out later than you thought you would because you couldn’t bear to miss the next record, or the next few.

The best DJs live and breathe music all day long, but you only get to hear them for an hour at a time. It’s time to change that. At Epic, it’s all headline. Every month, talented locals and visiting guests will take over the whole Re-Bar, for the whole night, so you can hear what they’re all about. Not just what they can find the time to play in a one-hour slot, but what they’d play for you and your friends in their living room. Not just the hits, but the inspiration behind them.

Open to close sets are a true test of any DJ and a challenge that most live for. They are chance for the DJ to immerse the dance floor in the groove, shift the focus across the full experience and tell a complete story.

Robbie Hardkiss, a legendary DJ/producer based in San Francisco, helped pioneer the US electronic dance scene with the groundbreaking record label Hardkiss Music. Hardkiss quickly became part of the international DJ elite, jetting to raves and clubs around the world to spin his unique blend of genre hopping funk. Through the years, he has put his Prince inspired production style and vocals on remixes and releases for a number of labels, including renowned imprints Classic, Siesta and Glenview Records.

Recently, he released a new Hardkiss album with “brother” Gavin Hardkiss called 1991. The album spawned a slew of singles with remixes by friends and collaborators; Sleazy McQueen, Space Coast, Mark E, N’Dinga Gaba, Corduroy Mavericks, All Good Funk Alliance, James Curd, Stephane Deschezeaux, David Harness, DJ Spun, Atnarko, Q-Burns
Abstract Message, Love Athletics, Constar, RAin, Freakpusher and Adam Warped.

Robbie and Gavin also recently re-released a 20th Anniversary remastered version of the seminal Hardkiss double album Delusions of Grandeur. A previously out of print classic, Delusions spent time on the Billboard Dance charts and went to #1 on the Rolling Stone Alternative chart, helping pave the way for electronic music’s
entrance into the mainstream.
