Time Out says

Feature will start promptly at 8:30 p.m. Get there early, grab a drink, food, and/or a seat, ... and prepare to be dazzled. Ten minute intermission between Feature & Open Mic. Sign up for Open Mic anytime: before the feature, during the feature, during intermission and during Open Mic itself. Open Mic rules: one piece only – up to five minutes. Some exceptions are made for short poems one minute or less. Work must be original, however, any form is welcome – song, spoken word, performance art, stand-up, rap, speech, etc. Musical instruments are okay if used to support the performer’s voice as the main performance. Seattle Spit works toward creating an inclusive and safe environment for all. We believe that every voice is important and necessary. We also believe that bringing words to the mic is a privilege and responsibility. Please bring pieces to the stage that are free of oppressive (sexist, cissexist, racist, classist, ageist, ableist, lookist, sizeist, homophobic, etc.) material. We encourage all Seattle Spit participants (attendees, features, open mic performers, etc.) to engage in dialogue that helps us all be better to ourselves and each other. Let's grow and write and love together! Seattle Spit is a queer spoken word event that is free and open to all, 21+. Seattle Spit occurs monthly, on the second Thursday of each month at 8:30pm at WildRose (1021 E Pike Street in Seattle). For more information or to become involved with future Seattle Spit events, find "Seattle Spit" group on facebook or contact Ms.Briq House:) if you would like to check out more Queer and Trans* events hoted by Ms. Briq House please friend her other FB pages FireNights Seattle and Briq House Entertainment.
