A free, informal tour of the galleries with Amber Nelson For Small Press Month, APRIL (Authors, Publishers and Readers of Independent Literature) will celebrate publications from small and independent literary producers with tours by small press editors, authors, and book designers of Pan: A Graphic Arts time Capsule of Europe 1895–1900. Contemporary small presses are part of Pan's legacy in their combination of old and new art forms as well as their support of both emerging and established artists. Tour guides will share useful information for current and potential authors and publishers and discuss how and why smaller literary producers are able to take risks and fill important cultural gaps in the larger market. ABOUT THE PRESENTERS Amber Nelson is the co-founder and poetry editor of the online journal alice blue, and the founding editor of alice blue books and shotgun wedding, a chapbook imprint. Her first book, In Anima: Urgency is available and a second book, The Human Seasons, is forthcoming from Coconut Books. APRIL (Authors, Publishers and Readers of Independent Literature (APRIL)) is an annual festival of small press and independent literature held in Seattle.
