Protest: The Young Muslims Killed In Chapel Hill Have Names

I’m sure you have all heard of the horrific crime that has befallen the community in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Three young Muslim Americans were shot and murdered in their own home, execution-style. American media has been trying to downplay the truth of what happened. When Muslims do get media coverage, they are always demonized and portrayed as perpetrators of violence. However, when the roles are switched and the Muslims are the victims, the media tries to manipulate the situation and make up excuses instead of blaming the killer. We see no sign of the United States government condemning this act of terror. It’s up to us to express our outrage and not rely on the media to do so. This was a crime committed in pure hatred and nothing else. Please come out and express your solidarity with the community of Chapel Hill. It is time we truly stand together and use the only thing we have left in our corrupt society today: our voices. Desmond Tutu once said, “If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
