Elliott Bay Book Company says
Seattle cartoonist Sarah Glidden traveled through Turkey, Iraq and Syria with two reporter friends (also founders of The Seattle Globalist), and an ex-Marine veteran to investigate the effects of the Iraq War, asking civilians, refugees and officials to tell their stories. Her graphic narrative, Rolling Blackouts (Drawn and Quarterly), documents their journey and many of the stories they heard, some of which appeared at The Cartoon Movement.

"An intricate investigation of how the reality of conflict gets filtered through personal, political, and journalistic narrative...This work quiet but challenging, plain yet beautiful exemplifies [Glidden's] skillful, sensitive reportage." --Library Journal.

Sarah Glidden, an Ignatz Award winner who is also the author of a graphic memoir, How to Understand Israel in 60 Days or Less, appears in conversation with The Seattle Review of Books co-founder Paul Constant.
