Town Hall Seattle says
Soyaya, meaning “love and affection” in the West African Hausa, plays African and World Music with traditional roots. By combining indigenous rhythm and blues, Soyaya’s all-original music will teach kids about another culture’s musical heritage. With frontman Mohammed Shaibu on guitar (paired with Asanti drums, Ewe drums, and other customary instruments such as the Bom Bom and Bugrubu) Soyaya’s energetic music inspires dance, celebration, and a love for all people.
