Spring Break To Canada says
Spend seven days and six nights visiting our beautiful coastal neighbor to the north: Canada, British Columbia! Make new friends from all over the world while exploring Vancouver and Victoria. Plan ahead! Many students and visitors require a Canadian Visitor's Visa to enter Canada. If this applies to you, prepare to show FIUTS proof of visa at the time you register for this trip!

International students will need to get a travel authorization signature on your I-20 or DS-2019 from your advisor before applying for a Canadian visa and traveling outside of the U.S.. Visa processing takes a minimum of 30 days (3 months advance application is recommended by the Canadian Consulate). Note: the Canadian Consulate in Seattle does not issue visas. You will need to mail or electronically submit your application.

SIGN UP IN THE FIUTS OFFICE (HUB 206) between 10:00AM and 4:00PM (Mondays - Fridays)!

When: Saturday, March 18th - Friday, March 24th

Cost: $320 (includes accommodations, transportation, and round-trip ferry travel to/from Vancouver Island). You will be responsible for food, spending money, and cost of admission to any attractions that you choose to visit.

Advance Sign-Up: Monday, February 20th in the FIUTS Office (HUB 206). Space is limited; reserve your spot early! ATTN: This trip is open to UW students only. Students requiring a Canadian Visa must show FIUTS a valid visa to register for this trip.

More information to help you plan:

Students who register for the FIUTS Canada Global Getaway will travel by University of Washington vehicles from the UW Seattle campus to Canada, B.C. from Saturday, March 18 to Friday, March 24 2017. Accommodations for the group are confirmed as follows:

March 18-21 at Hostel International – Vancouver Downtown and March 21-24 at Hostel International – Victoria.

FIUTS Facilitators (volunteer student leaders) will help you get there safely and have fun, but this is not a guided tour! They will offer some fun activities to help you explore Vancouver and Victoria, but both hostels are conveniently located so that you can choose your own activities! There will be lots of free time; we encourage you to build your own experience. Check out www.tourismvancouver.com and www.tourismvictoria.com for more information about each city.
