(Todd Rohal, USA, 2015, DCP, 73 min)

What if the End of the World happened while you were texting into the void from the least popular booth at Comic-Con?

Todd Rohal (M.O.P.Z., Rat Pack Rat, The Catechism Cataclysm, The Guatemalan Handshake, NOT Uncle Kent) throws caution to the wind in his most delightfully meta and nihilistically hilarious film to date, the genre-jumping anti-sequel to Joe Swanberg’s post-mumblecore feature Uncle Kent. Fixated on the possibility of a follow up to his low key indie film starring role, Kent Osborne (Adventure Time writer) pitches Joe on a sequel. Swanberg (who directed the first twelve minutes of Uncle Kent 2) retorts that sequels embody the antithesis of everything that is good and original and holy about real independent films.

And so Kent embarks, sequel-less, to Comic-Con in San Diego, which rapidly turns into his psychological unraveling -- or the apocalypse -- you pick. Featuring perhaps the most memorable opening credits sequence of a microbudget feature in recent times, cat talent agents, outrageously unguessable cameos, and the most twisted soundtrack deployment “Breakout” by Swing Out Sister.

"Uncle Kent 2 is the craziest movie sequel ever. A defiantly unconventional crowdpleaser." –Eric Kohn, Indiewire

"Allow your head to explode." –Hammer to Nail

"The most stand alone sequel ever made." –The Village Voice

"Uncle Kent 2 is freaking magic." –The Wall Street Journal
