The Libertinis, Seattle’s sexiest interarts gang, present equal parts love letter and ransom note to your favorite turn-of-the-century Russian poet Anton Chekhov as a blithe reminder that everybirdy hurts.

UNCLE SEAGULL - devised by the ensemble in the classic Libertinis fashion - is a glimpse into the lives of three seagull sisters stuck in a cherry orchard who can’t get back to the sea, no matter how achingly they long to leave. Katya insists on a life of decadent proprietary, despite their virtual isolation. Vera longs for dashing adventure, but can’t tear her heart away from the affairs that torture her. Sasha has forfeited herself to dutiful toil and hopes for little beyond endless cherry pits and stacks of homework to grade. But when the orchard of their childhood changes right beneath their webbed feet, will they summon the courage to fly?

Featuring Tootsie Spangles, Hattie HellKat, and Woody Shticks!
Stage Managed by Anna M. Freelund!
Costume Collaboration with Fantasia Oslund!

The Libertinis shake theatre, neo-burlesque, and clown into one deliciously weird cocktail. Now in their fourth season, The Libertinis have been featured at Annex Theatre, Seattle Center, Ballard Underground, the Pocket, church picnics, knitting groups, and art fests all over Seattle. After seeing UNCLE SEAGULL, keep your eyes peeled for their HOLIDAY RUMPUS at the Pocket in January (just in time for holiday horror stories), P(ART)Y: BENDER! at the Pocket in April (a weekend of weird and wonderful new one-offs), TWISTY SHAKES at the Ballard Underground in August (a psychedelic blowout with playwright Marcus Gorman), and their spotlight in the 2016 Seattle Fringe Fest in March!
