Time Out says

Sarah Zuberec Lecturer, University of Washington Your degree in Human Centered Design & Engineering has provided you with theories and methodologies to solve design problems for people – a UCD Toolkit. Early in your career, most of these design problems will be categorised as product design. You’ll be making “things”. As your career progresses, the problems that you work on may become more complex. These problems may be focused on organizational design, business design, or systems design. The good news is that you’ll be able to rely on your UCD Toolkit to address these amorphous and difficult problems. Sarah will provide some examples where she applied her UCD Toolkit to address these gnarly problems. About Sarah Zuberec Sarah Zuberec has worn many hats in her 20 year career, but she hasn’t strayed far from her roots in Human Factors and User Centered Design. Whether leading user experience organizations or driving marketing programs at Microsoft or owning cross-platform customer experiences as a product manager at Amazon, she’s been able to ensure that the business and technical organizations understand that the best customer experiences are informed directly by customers’ wants and needs. Quite simply, when people are the center of the system, then usually everybody wins. She’s shipped many products for many different audiences. She particularly enjoys working on big, amorphous problems that are integral to the success of the business. Sarah is currently a part-time lecturer in the HCDE department. She holds an undergraduate and masters degree of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto where she specialized in Human Factors and Interface design. ___________________________________ This talk is part of the UX Speaker Series, a 10-week seminar on current issues in user experience (UX) research and design, hosted by the University of Washington's department of Human Centered Design & Engineering.
