This second exhibition hosted by Frederick Holmes and Company in as many years, of more intimate works from his later era, examines further the nearly forgotten legacy of one of America's seminal Modernist painters, Walter Quirt. These paintings on paper remained hidden from the public's eye for over half a century and have only recently been released by the Walter Quirt Estate. Created during one of the most significant periods in American society and culture, they're emblematic of his exploration of Abstract Expressionism - the predominant genre of the day - while still holding fast to Quirt's love of, and fascination with, the figure. "I like movement. I like people." - Walter Quirt (1902-1968)
