Opening set with The Robin Holcomb Band

Zony Mash ceased being a working band December 13th, 2003 at their farewell concert at The Rainbow, a favorite club in Seattle. Though they have sporadically performed since then in the 8 piece Zony Mash Plus Horns, these four gigs in Seattle, Olympia and Portland will be their first appearance as the original quartet in over a decade.

Zony Mash made their debut in late 1995 as the unofficial house band at the OK Hotel in Seattle, where the band developed their sounds with months of weekly gigs. In Zony Mash you´ll hear a wide variety of influences, including sixties-style psychedelic rock, blues, funk, New Orleans and definitely some sounds that could only be described as being from outer space.

Featuring all original members Tim Young (guitar), Andy Roth (drums), Keith Lowe (bass), and Wayne Horvitz (keys).

“You've got to be ultra tight to convince listeners of your funkateer prowess, and for the most part, the fingers of Zony Mash Form a fist. On the nimble intro to "Smiles" they have the accuracy of a string quartet....Here's to their inspired if unholy alliances. May they continue to offer such seductive blends.”
- Jim Macnie, Down Beat
Pianist, composer, librettist, singer and songwriter Robin Holcomb takes over leadership of the Zony Mash band, slowing them down and molding them into another band entirely. Performing all new material from her upcoming album for Nonesuch, this is a show not to be missed.

“Achingly painful and suddenly tender, Robin Holcomb’s songs mirror a beguiling, bewildering world.” - Rolling Stone
