What if Pulp and The Kinks shared a prison cell? Or if Mick Jones fronted Joy Division? Or what would happen if Johnny Marr sat in with The Who? Aquitaine has been pondering these questions and answering them in the form of songs, since forming in St. Louis in the spring of 2011.

In that time, Aquitaine has released two acclaimed EPs – American Pulverizer Parts 1 and 2 – and most recently a full-length album, Transformation, in November 2016. The new album was recorded by Ben Hinn (of Troubadour Dali) at Mound Sound in University City, and was mastered by Carl Saff. It features songs written by each of the four current members of Aquitaine: guitarist Will Hildebrandt, bassist Dave Collett, lead guitarist Graham Day and drummer Bob McMahon. While Hildebrandt is the primary singer on the majority of the songs, both Collett and McMahon take turns on lead vocals.

Aquitaine has received positive attention in articles from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Riverfront Times and St. Louis Magazine. In addition, Aquitaine was one of the most played artists on KDHX in all of 2016.
