Animal Protective Association of Missouri (APA) says
Find a cuddly kitty or loyal doggy to love at The Cheshire Hotel Cat & Canine Adoption Cocktail Party. The APA Adoption Center and The Cheshire Hotel again are teaming up to help cats, kittens and canines find fur-ever homes. The free event takes place Thursday, July 14 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Cheshire, 6300 Clayton Avenue.

The APA will bring adoptable cats, kittens, puppies and dogs to The Cheshire so you can select the perfect pet and support the APA’s animal care effort.

During the adoption event, The Cheshire will be serving complimentary people hors d’oeuvres and pet treats. Specialty cocktails, created by the Fox & Hounds Tavern mixologists, will be available along with yards of ale and other beverages plus the full Tavern food menu. The event’s “kitty cocktail” is The Cheshire Cat - a combination of orange spice-infused bourbon, maraschino cherry liqueur, Angostura bitters, and a sugar cube topped with a cherry. The dogs have their drink of-the-day with a Benji, crème de violet, hibiscus juice, lemon and champagne.

In between petting pups and cuddling kitties, cocktail party attendees can tour one of The Cheshire’s specialty themed suites set up with the hotel’s Royal Pet Package amenities, including a pet bed, Union Jack-decorated water and food bowls, and pet treats. All cocktail party guests can register for a drawing to win an overnight-stay at the hotel with their four-legged pet companion.
