Veterans For Peace will hold a peace vigil to call an end to the ongoing war in Afghanistan and to call for an independent investigation the bombing of a Doctors Without Borders hospital. This week, we will meet in front of SLU Hospital to symbolize the bombing of a hospital is a war crime, regardless of where that hospital is located.

President Obama announced plans to keep nearly 10,000 U.S. troops in Afghanistan through most of next year and 5,500 when he leaves office in 2017. The U.S. invasion and occupation that began fourteen-years ago has not helped the Afghan people, but has cost U.S taxpayers billions of dollars. It is time to take a different approach to the conflict in Afghanistan.
