EWZ Stattkino 15 - Frida

The controversial and ultimately tragic life of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo is often compared to the piquant Mexican national dish mole, according to the blurb of film festival EWZ Stattkino 15. It’s certainly a good excuse for a spot of live cooking during this culinary inspired film screening. As Salma Hayek plays out the life of the tempestuous, mono-browed artist, chef Maria Dolores will rustle up the spicy chilli-chocolate dish in front of our eyes, no doubt filling the cinema with the smell of Mexico. Thankfully she won’t be making our stomachs rumble for nothing – the mole will be shared out among audience members, who will also get a small dessert to take home with them.
