Fondue Hütte

This pop-up fondue chalet is part of Europaallee’s Christmas market – but it’s something of a contrast to the ultra-modern set up of Zurich’s newest district. Step inside the large wooden chalet and you enter a classic Swiss alpine interior – all wood furniture, red and white gingham napkins and sheepskin rugs. It’s a wonderfully traditional setting in which to scoff down that most traditional of Swiss dishes, a fondue. Opt for classic cheese or try a Chinese fondue – where you cook meat in a tasty broth – instead. The restaurant also offers equally classic desserts, including meringues and cream. For an aperitif, head to the restaurant’s attached Älpler Bar for a beer, a glass of Prosecco or a warming glühwein, the perfect tipple to round off a wander through the Christmas market.
