Time Out says

A cosy retreat within 11 traditional barns that unite luxury with authenticity.

From the outside, Maiensäss Hotel Guarda Val gives you the impression of stepping back in time. A cluster of 300-year-old buildings in the hamlet of Sporz near Lenzerheide, Guarda Val is a scene of traditional wooden facades backed by mountainous ridges. But within these 11 huts and barns, the hotel tells a different story. Each of the 50 rooms combines heritage with modern luxury. Stylish touches include slick wooden furniture and rustic stone fittings. Meanwhile, lovely treats come in the shape of luxuriously soft bed linen made for diving into, and a little basket in the bathroom containing a body brush and lavender soap. The whole effect is one of alpine romanticism, especially in the rooms that boast a freestanding bathtub. This theme continues in the wellness area Guarda Sana, where you can recline and dream on the hay beds, or enjoy the outdoor ‘hot pot’ with your loved one. The real icing on the cake, though, is dinner in the gourmet restaurant Guarda Val, which has 15 Gault Millau points.
