These days, dining out is about much more than ‘just’ eating. Don’t get us wrong, great food is still essential, of course, but there’s now much more to be had from the event, including superb drinks to accompany superb food, and dancing to round the night off.
As luck would have it, you can do all three – and much more – at FIVE Zurich, a seriously luxurious lifestyle hotel boasting a whopping seven dining and nightlife venues. This means it’s blissfully easy to enjoy a first-rate meal as part of a wider nightlife experience, all under a single roof (admittedly a very large one).

As for the meal itself, there’s a wide range of global cuisine to choose from, served at exemplary venues. This includes Maiden Shanghai, a gourmet restaurant inspired by 1920s Shanghai vibes and led by highly acclaimed chef Luo Bing. Here, you’ll find gourmet dishes influenced by regions across China, accompanied by one of the best skyline views in Zurich. Make the view even better with an opulent cocktail, such as the Maiden’s Kiss, with Japanese whisky, cognac, peach wine, bitters and rose.

Then there’s Soul St., a hip and wildly colourful hangout serving high-end street food influenced by cuisine from all around the world – feast on anything from arancini to fattoush to bhajis to tacos. Just as important as the food, however, is the wall-to-wall street art that adorns Soul St. (created by experienced artists), giving the venue its distinctive look and feel. Phones at the ready for this one, because you’re going to being taking a lot of photos.

Once dinner is done and empty plates are replaced by fresh cocktails, it’s time to start thinking about which dancefloor to head to. Feel free to warm things up at Soul St., which hosts weekly music events and is overflowing with good vibes and lively tunes, before moving to The Penthouse.
As the name suggests, The Penthouse is a slick setting, described by FIVE as “the first high-energy Japanese dining experience in Switzerland,” which adds yet another top-notch gastronomic option into the mix. Menu-wise, there’s a vast selection of sushi and inventive sharing plates, plus a range of creative cocktails to set the mood, such as the Penthouse Collins, made with kaffir lime leaf-infused gin, grapefruit and mandarin cordial, and salty grapefruit tonic.
As an aside, if fine wines – rather than cocktails – are more your thing, FIVE’s Vault Wine Bar has you covered with its vast selection of Swiss wines, alongside plenty of carefully picked global winners. And now back to The Penthouse, where dining is just one course on the table. As night-time appears, the venue’s nightlife agenda kicks-in and The Penthouse transforms into a fully-fledged club, complete with DJs spinning party-primed sounds until the early hours – previous big-name DJs to have set the Penthouse dancefloor alight include Lost Frequencies, Hugel, Joel Corry, Afro Bros and Charlie Sloth Make sure you don’t miss the tucked-away Bathroom Bar, which hosts intimate afterhours shindigs for those looking to keep the party going.

So, start and end your Zurich night out at a venue that deserves your attention over the whole evening, from pre-dinner drinks and socialising to a fantastic meal at a buzzing restaurant to post-dinner cocktails (or wine) and more socialising, and then finally partying until the late hours – perhaps with a little lounging by the pool or the spa in-between. At FIVE Zurich, combining all those good times simply feels like the logical thing to do.
