Radio these days just isn't what it used to be. In fact, it's better than it's ever been before – way better. Just take a listen to the ace Rundfunk.FM, a pop-up station that's essential listening for anyone in Zurich or anyone around the globe, thanks to its availability on the DAB+ cable network.

The Rundfunk ethos is about making people move, through carefully picked selections of tunes that range from disco to house to soul to funk and far beyond – anything with a solid gold groove, essentially.

If you're new to the station, now is the perfect opportunity to get acquainted, as Spanish radio station Ibiza Sonica is sending some of its crew to Zurich to take over the Rundfunk airwaves every Wednesday throughout August, channelling a bit of White Isle party magic along the way. We spoke to Ibiza Sonica DJ and co-founder Igor Marijuan to ask what listeners can expect.

"We’ll be playing lots of different types of dance music on the takeovers, but we're mainly focusing on bringing the Balearic sound of Ibiza to Zurich. I can't wait to be doing this every week in August – I'm super-excited about it!"

So are we, Igor.
