Less than 20 years ago, the Bäckeranlage was a meeting point for drug addicts and their dealers, a place to avoid and ignore. But after a contest was held for the park's restoration and Zurich based architects EM2N provided the area with a modern building which hosts a café and cultural centre, the families of the area have now reclaimed the facilities. Lunch at the café is tasty and cheap, and the on-site playground is a great place if you have small kids who want to make friends.
