One of several free cultural events in Lausanne each summer, this multi-disciplinary arts festival stages theatre, dance, classical music, visual arts, street performance and literature events over the course of five days in July.
Running since 1972, it aims to bring contemporary art to the city centre, opening up Lausanne’s cultural scene to all and embedding the arts within the fabric of the medieval Cité and Old Town below. On any given day you might come across a circus group gathering crowds in the streets, a choral concert at the cathedral or a theatre troupe entertaining diners in a Lausanne restaurant.
