Time Out says

A giant water slide comes to central Geneva for one day only.

Where Bristol and San Francisco have gone, so Geneva will follow. Well, in this case anyway. The fad of sliding down a giant inflatable waterway in the centre of town has proved ridiculously fun in both those cities, and now Geneva is throwing caution to the wind (who’d have thought!) and following suit. Organised by local newspaper Les Nouvelles, Gliss’en Ville will be the first event of its kind in continental Europe, let alone Switzerland. For one (hopefully sunny) afternoon only, you can don your swimsuit, grab your trusty rubber ring or inflatable mattress and fling yourself down a 200m slide through the middle of Rue Voltaire. This joyfully absurd activity is open to adults and kids over seven years old, with family tickets encouraging everyone from your niece to your granny to have a go.

The organisers promise a festive atmosphere on the street, with discounts available in certain restaurants in the area on production of your wristband entry pass.

Limited tickets (at a discounted rate) are available in advance from the website.
