Time Out says

A versatile exhibition centre hosting trade fairs, private events and high-profile shows, gigs and concerts.

Located on the shore of Lake Zurich, this events and conference centre was created in 1939 to be the focal point of that year’s National Exhibition, which aimed to showcase Switzerland’s diversity. Sharing a building with the Tonhalle concert hall, it’s a prime example of the architecture of that period. Over the years its versatile space has accommodated a huge array of events from trade fairs like design show Blickfang through private events and conferences to gigs, dance shows, musicals and big-name concerts. Reflecting its age and history, the line-up of past performers here reads like a who’s who of music – including Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sammy Davis Jr, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, James Taylor and Patricia Kaas.
