Lausanne à Table - 1st August picnic

A lovely way to spend Swiss National Day is to join others for a community picnic on the lawn behind the Montbenon Casino, overlooking the lake below and mountains beyond. It’s organised by gastronomic initiative Lausanne à Table, which invites a number of local producers to bring their picnickable wares to sell in a market, including patisseries, cheeses, honey, fruit, wine, meats and deli items. The Brasserie de Montbenon, located nearby, also lays on a spread. Buy your choice and sit back to chill with your mates in the sunshine – hopefully. Last year it was called off due to rain.
