This wacky event is a sort of combination of ski jumping, birdman and watersliding. Intrigued? Us too... Every February in Gruyeres, a bunch of hardy souls take to a ski slope in Jaun that ends in a pit of icy water. Riding on their own, home-made "snowmobiles" (or should that be watermobiles?) particpants attempt to skim across the water. Points are awarded for length of slide and originality of vehicle. Hilarity ensues. Repeat.
The event is free to enter or watch and all participants win a prize.
