Zermatt’s Swiss Food Festival celebrates local products, traditions and sustainability.
With 238 Gault Millau points and two Michelin stars, Zermatt has a higher concentration of top restaurants than anywhere else in the Alps. So it is fitting that the resort at the foot of the Matterhorn chose to stage the Swiss Food Festival. Now in its 6th edition, this celebration of Swiss products and producers turns Zermatt’s Bahnhofstrasse into a gourmet market lined with chalets selling and providing information about regional products. Don’t miss the Hérens beef, which is prepared on the church square. The three-day programme will kick off on August 12 with behind-the-scenes "Kitchen Parties" at the Mont Cervin Palace and Grand Hotel Zermatterhof and conclude on the Sunday with a special breakfast on the Matterhorn Express gondola.
